Preparation to make list of injured in Kansat tragedy

Chapainawabganj, May 4 (BDNEWS) – The task of preparing the list of people injured in the brutal police atrocities in Kansat has begun.
A total of 355 names have been incorporated into the list as of Thursday evening.
Sources said a three-member high-powered government committee has made the list after field level visits to Kansat, Abbas Bazar, Bagdurgapur, Guchchhagram, Lahlamari, Bahalabari and Gopalnagar area.
The committee comprises Shibganj upazila nirbahi officer (UNO), Dewan Mohammad Abdus Samad, Chapainawabganj civil surgeon Md Golam Mortuza and Palli Bidyut Unnayan Sangram Parishad convener Golam Rabbani.
Shibganj UNO Mohammad Abdus Samad said moving around the areas 355 persons were found injured and three hundred more injured might be added to it.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Institute of Human Rights and Rehabilitation Centre for Trauma Victims provided free-of-cost treatment to the victims on Thursday.
About 350 injured were treated throughout the day on Thursday at the Kansat High School Ground camp set up by those two human rights organisations. The area coordinator Jahangir Alam Akash was present there.
