Last respects paid to Apala Farhad

Dhaka, Feb 19 (bdnews24.com) — Friends, family and well-wishers have paid their last respects to Prof Apala Farhad.
People of all strata also visited Chhayanat office in the city on Saturday to show their respects to Apala, who was a professor of biochemistry at the University of Dhaka.
Her remains was kept there between 10am and noon.
Apala's brother Partha Tanvir Naved told bdnews24.com: As per her wish, her remains will be handed over to the medical authorities for research.
Apala, also a daughter of Wahidul Haque and Sanjida Khatun, died of cancer at Modern Hospital in the city around 10:20pm on Friday. She was 54.
She is survived by her husband Niyaz Morshed Qadri, head of editorial department at satellite television channel Shomoy, and her daughter.
