Massive fire erupts at Gazipur mosquito coil factory, 7 Fire Service units on scene

The incident occurred on the western side of the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in Gazipur Sadar Upazila’s Bagher Bazar

A massive fire has erupted at a chemical warehouse for a mosquito coil factory in Gazipur Sadar Upazila. Seven units from the Fire Service are working to tame the flames, with the help of locals.

The fire started at the factory next to the Upobon Filling Station on the western side of the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in Bagher Bazar around 12:30pm on Wednesday, said Md Mamun, deputy assistant director of the Gazipur Fire Service.

As of 2:30pm, seven firefighting units and students from the local Hajji Nurul Islam Model Academy are trying to bring the blaze under control, he said.
