The movement to keep Shahbagh “free of fascism” and “Indian hegemony” must continue to secure justice for the murder of Inqilab Moncho Convenor Sharif Osman bin Hadi, his brother Omar Hadi has said.

He made the remarks on Sunday morning while attending an event held at the Al-Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar to pray for his brother. The prayers were led by Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar.

Omar said his brother used to stand in Shahbagh and say “fascism” was born there.

“I will resist ‘fascism’ in Shahbagh. I will chant ‘Naraye Takbir, Allahu Akbar’ while sitting in Shahbagh,” Omar said, quoting his brother.

He urged well-wishers to complete the "revolution" his brother had started.

“We don’t want any financial assistance or donation. We want only one thing, for you to complete [Hadi’s] unfinished revolution,” he said.
