The government has assigned new deputy commissioners (DCs) to four more districts.

These officers, holding the rank of deputy secretary, will serve as district magistrates alongside their roles as DCs.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification appointing the new DCs for Thakurgaon, Rangpur, Rajbari, and Pabna on Wednesday.

Afroza Parvin, a director at the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA), has been appointed DC of Rajbari.

Mohammad Rafiqul Haque, a deputy secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration, has been posted to Thakurgaon.

Aminul Islam, another deputy secretary at the ministry, has been appointed district administrator of Pabna, while Mohammad Ruhul Amin, secretary of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), has been made Rangpur DC.

The ministry also issued separate notifications withdrawing the current DCs of the four districts.

Following their withdrawal, they have been attached to the ministry for subsequent postings.

Earlier, on Mar 29, the government appointed new DCs to 11 districts such as Rajshahi, Chuadanga, Khulna, Madaripur, Brahmanbaria, Chandpur, Habiganj, Narsingdi, Meherpur, Lalmonirhat and Bandarban.

Before Eid-ul-Fitr, on Mar 15, the government had also appointed new DCs to Gazipur, Panchagarh, Chapainawabganj, Kushtia and Netrokona.
