Dhaka, Feb 10 (bdnews24.com) - The sixth anniversary of death of eminent journalist, sports writer and commentator Tawfiq Aziz Khan will be observed Sunday.
The family of the late journalist has arranged programmes to observe the anniversary in a befitting manner, a statement said Saturday.
Tawfiq joined the Pakistan Observer, now the Bangladesh Observer, as a staff reporter in 1958.
He also worked as public relations officer for the EPIDC and Titas Gas between 1968 and 1975.
He then joined the now-defunct daily Dainik Bangla and weekly Bichitra as general manager and worked there till 1990 before joining the Daily Star as the founding managing editor. When he died, he was the executive editor of the daily.
Tawfiq had been a familiar voice behind the microphone in both television and radio coverage of different sports events since 1958.
Tawfiq Aziz Khan was the Founder Editor of the country's number one sports fortnightly Krira Jagat (sports world) and also the Resident Editor of Cricketer Asia, Hong Kong and Sports Times, Lahore and gave honorary services to weekly Holiday at its initial stage.
