The Fire Service and Civil Defence is set to undergo a leadership change following the lead of several other agencies in the aftermath of the fall of the Awami League government.
The Ministry of Public Administration in a notification appointed BUP Research Centre Dean Brig Gen Muhammad Jahed Kamal as the director general on Sunday.
However, the Fire Service did not receive the notice until after Monday, according to the agency’s spokesperson Shahjahan Mia.
Jahed, who has been appointed under the Security Services Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, will replace Brig Gen Md Main Uddin, the notice read.
Main Uddin, the outgoing DG, has been sent back to the armed forces.
“We have been informed about the change of the DG but have yet to receive the documents,” Shahjahan said.
