Housewife found dead in Chattogram’s Chandnaish, husband detained

Police said faint marks were visible on the woman's neck and body, though the cause of death can only be confirmed after a post-mortem examination

Police have recovered the body of a 19-year-old woman from a house in Chattogram's Chandanaish Upazila and detained her husband for questioning.

The body of Sadia Sultana Alfi was found on Wednesday in Kanai Madari village. She was married to Mizanur Rahman alias Ridwan.

“The body was recovered from the dining room. Her husband was found in another room with the door locked and was later taken into custody,” said Sub-Inspector Amjad Hossain of Chandanaish Police Station.

Police said faint marks were visible on Alfi’s neck and body, though the cause of death will only be confirmed following a post-mortem examination.

According to neighbours, they initially saw Alfi’s body in the bathroom. Ridwan allegedly forced them out of the house, locked the door, and later washed the body before placing it in the dining room.

Police said further investigation was under way.
