Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Hasib Aziz has issued a reshuffle of seven inspectors shortly after receiving his own transfer order.
Wednesday’s order includes the transfer of three police station chiefs (OCs).
Under the order:
Abdul Karim, chief of Pahartali Police Station, was transferred to Bayezid Bostami Police Station.
Bayezid Bostami Police chief Md Zahedul Kabir was posted to the city’s Special Branch.
Khulshi Police chief Md Zahedul Islam moved to Pahartali, while Md Arifur Rahman, attached to CMP’s line of duty, took over Khulshi Police Station.
Mohammad Amir Hossain Zia was assigned to the north division of the Detective Branch.
Jasim Uddin moved to the South division.
City and Vehicle Inspector Saifur Rahman was posted as City Gate TI.
On Dec 6, all CMP police stations saw OC reshuffles.
Arifur moved from Akbarshah to Sadarghat, Jasim from Bayezid Bostami to Chandgaon, and Zia from Pahartali to Double Mooring.
On Dec 31, Police Headquarters attached Arifur, Jasim, and Jamir to the line of duty.
The Ministry of Home Affairs transferred Commissioner Hasib from CMP to the Armed Police Battalion on Mar 16.
His issuance of OC-level reshuffles before leaving his post has triggered discussions among officers.
A senior officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, told bdnews24.com: “Reshuffles of OCs fall under the commissioner’s authority. But such extensive changes immediately following one’s own transfer are unusual.”
