Decapitated body of man recovered in Rangpur, note says ‘responsible for own death’

The man committed suicide by laying his head under a train, police claim

Police have recovered the decapitated body of an unidentified man next to a railway line in Pirgachha Upazila of Rangpur.

A note has also been recovered from the spot saying, “I’m responsible for my own death. Please pray for me.”

The body was recovered from the area between Uchapara and Dudhiabari railway gates on Sunday morning, said Pirgachha Police chief Muhibul Islam Moon.

The identity of the dead has yet to be determined.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

Citing locals, the police officer said: “The young man died by suicide by placing his head under a train in the morning between Uchapara and Dudhiabari railway gates in Pirgachha.”

The man reportedly had the word “Hossain” written on his palm with Henna colour.
