Media shapes public awareness into a collective narrative, says Farhad Mazhar

Participating in bdnews24.com’s 19th-anniversary celebration, poet and thinker Farhad Mazhar has reflected on the crucial role of media in society.

On Thursday, he said the media’s role is to “cultivate public consciousness from the people themselves”.

Mazhar made the remarks at the Grand Ballroom of Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden.

“On one hand, media exists under the public. On the other, it channels the sovereign thoughts of the people to build a collective narrative,” he said.
