Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has called on Muslims to embrace Islam’s “unique beauty” by avoiding all forms of injustice and wrongdoing, and to illuminate the national life through righteous deeds.

His message came on Monday ahead of Shab-e-Barat, which will be observed on Tuesday night.

He said, “Let us accept the holy Shab-e-Barat as an exceptional opportunity to seek Allah’s mercy, pray for the welfare of our country and nation, and dedicate ourselves to human welfare.

“By shunning all injustice, oppression, misconduct, and superstition, we can illuminate individual, societal, and national life with the unparalleled beauty of Islam’s teachings.”

Extending greetings to Muslims in Bangladesh and worldwide, Yunus added: “Muslims observe the night between the 14th and 15th of Shaban in the Hijri calendar as Shab-e-Barat.

“This holy night is a unique chance for mercy, forgiveness, and spiritual purification. Hadiths narrate that Allah specially forgives His servants on this night, making it a blessed occasion. May Almighty Allah grant us all forgiveness and protection. Ameen.”

In observance of Shab-e-Barat, Baitul Mukarram National Mosque will host Quran recitation, sermons, and prayer gatherings.

According to a foundation notice, programmes begin after Maghrib prayer with a sermon highlighting the teachings, duties, and prohibitions of Shab-e-Barat, delivered by Religious Advisor AFM Khalid Hossain and presided over by Islamic Foundation Director General Abdus Salam Khan.

The mosque will remain open throughout the night for personal worship.

After Fazr prayers, the observance will conclude with Akheri Munajat led by Senior Pesh Imam Maulana Muhammad Mizanur Rahman.
