Three more children have died of suspected measles cases across Bangladesh in a 24-hour count. During this period, 45 new cases of measles have been confirmed.

The regular measles bulletin for Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday said that 90 people have died of confirmed measles cases across the country since Mar 15. In addition, 498 people have died with symptoms consistent with the highly-contagious disease.

Dhaka Division has seen the most deaths with 200, with Rajshahi in second with 84.

DGHS says that during this period, 1,134 people have gone to hospitals with measles-like symptoms. Of them, 1,016 have been admitted to the hospital.

Dhaka saw the most admissions with 379, while Rangpur saw the least with 29.

Since the start of the outbreak, Bangladesh has recorded 9,094 confirmed cases of measles and a total of 72,070 suspected cases of the disease.
