Truck crashes into Paharika Express in Chattogram, train service suspended for 1.5 hours

“There was no damage to the train or injuries to its passengers, but the truck overturned and the line was suspended,” a railway official says

A sand-laden truck has crashed into a moving Paharika Express train near Baratakia of Chattogram’s Mirsharai.

The incident occurred around 8:55am on Sunday and train services along the route were suspended until 10:30am.

Afterwards, the Paharika Express set off for Sylhet once more.

Farhan Mahmud, the divisional transport officer for the Bangladesh Railway East Zone, said: ““There was no damage to the train or injuries to its passengers [due to the accident], but the truck overturned and the line was suspended [for a time].”
