The investigating officer (IO) of RAB 1, Assistant Superintendent of Police Kazemur Rashid submitted the charge sheet at the court of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Tuesday.

Juba League’s Dhaka Metropolitan (south) unit organising secretary Milki was shot dead in front of Gulshan’s Shopper World on July 29 last year.

Among the accused was Juba League leader Jahid Siddiqui Tarek who died in an alleged encounter with RAB later, said general record officer SI Farid Miah.

Other accused include Sakhawat Hossain Chanchal, Fahima Islam Lopa, Jahangir Mondal, Shahidul Islam, Aminul Islam, Sohel Mahmud, Chunnu Miah, ‘Arif’, Ibarahim Khalil, Rafiqul Islam and Sharif Uddin Pappu.

Of them, Fahima Islam was on bail while Sakhawat Hossain, Arif, Ibrahim and Rafiqul were absconding.

The rest of the accused are now in jail.

In the charge-sheet, 26 people have been named as witnesses and nine people have been dropped off the list of the accused, said SI Farid Miah.

Six people have given statement in the case, said IO Rashid.

A closed-circuit camera (CCTV) in the shopping mall picked up details of the murder.

RAB had arrested Juba League leader Tarek with injuries from a hospital after Milki was killed.

He was identified as the shooter from the CCTV footage.

Tarek later died in an alleged encounter between his supporters and RAB in Khilkhet, while he was being taken to Gulshan Police Station from Uttara.

Riazul Haque Khan Milki’s brother Major Rashidul Haque Khan had filed the case with the Gulshan police naming 11, including Tarek, for the murder.
