Dhaka Metropolitan (north) Juba League’s expelled leader Sakhawat Hossain Chanchal addressed the event as a special guest on Sunday.
He was introduced as a close associate of youth wing Juba League’s central Chairman Omar Faruque that surprised many activists of the Awami League US chapter.
Juba League organising secretary Milki was shot dead in front of the 'Shoppers World' in Dhaka’s Gulshan on July 30 last year.
The CCTV of Shoppers World camera showed a youth, later identified as ‘Tarique,’ shooting Milki through the head point blank after he got down from his car.
'Tarique' fired several rounds at Milki after he fell down.
Then the assailant fled in a motorcycle.
Another youth was also seen firing at the time.
Chanchal, a close aide of Tarique, controlled the area when the killing took place.
Chanchal and Tarique are among 11 named accused in the murder case filed with the Gulshan police.
Several Juba League leaders requesting anonymity said Chanchal had gone to the US at the end of August last year and sought political asylum there.
