France forward Ousmane Dembele has smashed in the fastest World Cup hat-trick from kick-off in 72 years, netting three times in just over half an hour in the Group I clash against Norway in Boston.
Dembele completed his treble in just 32 minutes on Saturday.
According to tournament statistics, it was the quickest hat-trick scored from the start of a World Cup match since 1954.
The remarkable performance also marked a dramatic turnaround in Dembele's World Cup fortunes.
The French attacker had failed to score in his first 12 World Cup appearances before breaking his drought earlier in the tournament.
