IGP, new DG RAB removed in another police shuffle

Two days after the shuffle in the police administration, the President and caretaker government chief, Iajuddin Ahmed, Thursday ordered another massive one, removing the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the new Director General (DG) of RAB.

Dhaka, Nov 2 (bdnews24.com) - Two days after the shuffle in the police administration, the President and caretaker government chief, Iajuddin Ahmed, Thursday ordered another massive one, removing the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the new Director General (DG) of RAB.
Khoda Baksh, appointed as DG RAB on October 31, was promoted to IGP.
SM Mizanur Rahman was appointed as new RAB DG.
IGP Anwarul Iqbal was sent to the establishment ministry as secretary, OSD.
Meanwhile, Nayeem Ahmed, who took charge as Dhaka Metropolitan Police (CMP) commissioner from SM Mizanur Rahman Thursday, was sent to the Special Branch (SB) as Additional Inspector (Addl-IG) of police.
Addl-IG ABM Bazlur Rahman was made new DMP commissioner.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Majedul Haq was brought to the police headquarters.
Besides, Addl-IG Moniruzzaman was made Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP) commissioner, Addl-IG Moynur Rahman Chowdhury was made CMP commissioner, joint commissioner SM Kamal Hossain was made commandant of Rangpur Police Training Centre (PTC), commandant of Chittagong APBn SM Mahfuzul Haq Nuruzzaman was made Addl-IG headquarters, and Addl-IG of headquarters Banaj Kumar Majumdar was made commandant of Chittagong APBn.
Earlier on October 31, the caretaker government cancelled the contractual appointments of the DG of RAB, Abdul Aziz Sarkar and the chief of SB of police Farrukh Ahmed.
Meanwhile, sweeping changes were also made at the 16 top levels of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), SB and CID on the day.
