The Bangladesh Nationalist Party has nominated Bogura district BNP President Rezaul Karim Badsha for the Bogura-6 constituency.

Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir formally announced the nomination on Thursday from the party chairman’s office in Gulshan.

Party chief Tarique Rahman relinquished the Bogura-6 seat after winning from two constituencies in the general election.

Although six party leaders had sought nomination, the Sheaf of Paddy symbol was ultimately handed to Badsha.

According to the Election Commission’s schedule for the by-election, the deadline for submission of nomination papers is Mar 2, Mar 5 for scrutiny, and Mar 14 for withdrawal of candidature.

Electoral symbols will be allocated on Mar 15, with voting taking place on Apr 9.
