Washing polythene waste on the Buriganga

Polythene waste collected from different parts of the country is being washed in the waters of Dhaka’s Buriganga River. The thick sheets of plastic, brought in sacks, are cleaned and then taken to recycling factories. There, the polythene is melted down and remade into various plastic products.
