BRT construction continues amid pandemic

Despite several mishaps during the coronavirus pandemic, construction work on the country’s first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project continues. The 20.5 km specialised flyover from the Dhaka airport to Gazipur, which aims to ease the capital’s persistent traffic woes, costs Tk 20.4 billion and is set to be the most expensive BRT system in the world.
