Guppy fish to fight mosquitoes

Dhaka South Mayor Sayeed Khokon released guppy fish fry into an abandoned swimming pool on the Stamford University campus in Siddheswari on Monday. The move aims to tackle mosquito-borne diseases like dengue and chikungunya, as the fish eat up the larva of Aedes mosquito. The mayor says the city corporation will soon use the fish to clear sewerage lines across the capital of mosquitoes. Photo: abdul mannan
