Health authorities have recorded the death of another dengue patient in a 24-hour count with the monsoon fuelling the spread of the Aedes mosquito-borne disease.
In its regular bulletin on Sunday, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said the country logged 350 new cases in the 24 hours until 8am -- the highest single-day caseload this month.
Since Jul 1, as many as 2,219 patients have been hospitalised across the country.
The death toll now stands at 25 since January, with seven patients dying in the first 12 days of July alone.
According to the health directorate, the latest death was reported in Dhaka Division, which currently has the highest number of patients with 2,931.
Dhaka Division also tops the list of fatalities since January, with 11 deaths, followed by five in Mymensingh.
Of the new patients, 53 were in Dhaka North City Corporation and 44 in Dhaka South. Excluding the two city corporations, Dhaka Division registered 31 more dengue patients.
Over the past 24 hours, 279 patients have been discharged from hospitals.
The DGHS says 8,323 people have been admitted to hospitals in the country with dengue since Jan 1, of which, 7,570 have recovered.
