Bangladesh has recorded three more child deaths linked to measles in a single day, with 130 new cases confirmed in the same period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) regular bulletin on measles said on Monday that 93 people have died of confirmed cases of measles across the country since Mar 15.
In addition, 590 people with suspected measles cases have also died in that time.
Dhaka Division logged the highest number of symptomatic fatalities at 250.
The death toll across other regions stands at 88 in Rajshahi, 74 in Sylhet, 50 in Chattogram, 39 in Barishal, 54 in Mymensingh, 27 in Khulna, and eight in Rangpur.
According to the DGHS, a total of 965 people sought hospital care with measles symptoms over the latest 24-hour count, with 884 requiring admission.
Dhaka registered the highest caseload, with 367 symptomatic patients and 305 hospitalisations.
In Rajshahi, 52 cases were reported with 47 admissions; in Sylhet, 65 cases and 60 admissions; in Barishal, 110 cases and 87 admissions; in Chattogram, 210 cases and 210 admissions; in Mymensingh, 60 cases and 57 admissions; in Khulna, 84 cases and 83 admissions; and in Rangpur, 17 cases with 12 admissions.
A total of 77,743 measles patients have been admitted to hospitals so far, of whom 73,985 have been discharged.
The DGHS said the cumulative number of suspected measles cases in the country stands at 93,755, while confirmed cases total 11,171.
