Monpura
, a film directed by Giasuddin Selim, has been nominated as the best film of 2009 for the National Film Awards.
Information minister Abul Kalam Azad announced the nominations at a press briefing on Thursday.
Azad said the prime minister would distribute the awards at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Saturday.
Chanchal Chowdhury and Ferdous were declared best actors for their roles in
Monpura
and
Gongajatra
respectively.
Sadeka Parvin Popy will receive the best actress award for her role in Gongajatra.
Syed Wahiduzzaman was nominated as the best director for directing Gongajatra.
The best singer award will go to Kumar Biswajit, while Sultana Zaman will receive the lifetime achievement award.
