Chhatra Dal to contest DUCSU polls under leadership of Abidul, Hamim

Abidul is the vice president candidate, while Hamim will run for the general secretary post

The BNP-aligned Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has announced its full panel for the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections.

Abidul Islam Khan, joint general secretary of the organisation's Dhaka University unit, has been nominated for the vice president post.

Meanwhile, Tanvir Bari Hamim, convenor of the group’s Kabi Jasimuddin Hall unit at the university, will run for the general secretary post. He is a student in the Department of Women and Gender Studies from the 2018-2019 academic year.

The candidate for the assistant general secretary position is Tanvir Al Hadi Mayed, convenor of the group’s Bijoy Ekattor Hall unit and a journalism student from the same academic year.

Rakibul Islam Rakib, president of the Chhatra Dal's central unit, announced the panel at the altar of Aparajeyo Bangla sculpture on the campus on Wednesday.

The DUCSU election is set to be held on Sept 9.
