It added that entrepreneurs, industry representatives, faculty members, students, and participants from different districts also joined the event.

Organised as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the university said the event is playing a vital role in promoting entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, innovation, and creative confidence among the youth.

As part of GEW 2025, GEN Bangladesh is hosting more than 100 entrepreneurship-centered events nationwide, engaging over one hundred thousand students in the national entrepreneurial ecosystem, it added.

DIU said the festival featured traditional rural products, local cuisine, handicrafts, folk culture, and creative branding presentations prepared by DIU students, representing the diverse identity of all 64 districts. Young entrepreneurs showcased innovative products and business ideas, attracting significant attention among visitors.

It added that with its unique fusion of traditional heritage and modern branding, “Oitijjer Haat” is emerging each year as a major point of attraction for the nation’s rising entrepreneurs.

According to the statement, since its inception in 2022, “Oitijjer Haat” has received copyright recognition and has become one of DIU’s most successful and celebrated flagship events.

This initiative, highlighting the unique heritage of each district, is now being recognised as a powerful model for youth entrepreneurship development and cultural branding, it read.

Abdul Momen said, “BRAC Bank has long been contributing to the development of SME entrepreneurs. Oitijjer Haat is a powerful platform for showcasing the potential of local entrepreneurs.”

Prof Kabir noted that this event plays a “significant” role in bringing the diverse traditions of all 64 districts to the younger generation and that it will have a “positive impact” at the national level.

Prof Masum said, “Oitijjer Haat is an exceptional initiative that brings together our culture, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial potential. It will continue to inspire the new generation.”

Successfully held for the fourth time, the statement said “Oitijjer Haat 2025” is contributing to branding the heritage of Bangladesh in a modern context while empowering young entrepreneurs.
