The Democratic Students Union, the student wing of the National Citizen Party, has announced a full panel for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election.

From the panel, Abdul Kader, convenor of the union’s DU branch, will contest the vice-president post, while central convenor Abu Bakar Mazumder will run for general secretary.

Spokesperson Ashrefa Khatun has been nominated for the assistant general secretary position.

The announcement was made on Wednesday afternoon in front of the university’s central library by the father of July Uprising martyr Farhan Faiyaz. The panel has been named the Anti-discrimination Students’ Parliament.

The Democratic Students Union fielded candidates for 27 of the 28 DUCSU posts, leaving the research and publications secretary post vacant in support of Sanjida Ahmed Tanvi, a student injured during the July Uprising.

Tanvi, from the 2019–20 session of the clinical psychology department, has already filed her nomination independently. Several organisations, including the Democratic Students Union, have pledged support for her candidacy.
