Nestlé Bangladesh has organised “The Gut Nexus,” a two-day workshop on gut microbiome science, bringing together over 250 scientific experts and research professionals.

The event combined expert talks with interactive sessions, providing a platform for participants to explore the latest research on gut health.

International speakers Dr Shaman Rajendrajith of Sri Lanka and Dr Mark A Beninga of the Netherlands, discussed the importance of gut health and functional gastrointestinal disorders.

Adding a local perspective, Dr Md Iqbal Hossain from ICDDR, B highlighted the role of gut-friendly foods in the Bangladeshi diet.

The workshop also featured scientific booths showcasing innovations in probiotics and symbiotics, underlining Nestlé’s focus on advancing nutrition science.

Organisers said the event reaffirmed Nestlé Nutrition Institute’s commitment to promoting gut health education and enhancing public well-being.
