Teacher dismissed for sexual abuse

Chittagong, Sept 4 (bdnews24.com) – A school teacher has been fired from his job for sexually abusing a girl student.

Suman Kanti Sheel, an assistant teacher of the Commerce Department at Krishanakumari City Corporation Girls High School of Aamtali area in the city, was dismissed from services on Sunday.

Acting chief education officer of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Sarwar-e-Alam told bdnews24.com that Suman was sacked for his activities, which were in violation of the government rules.

"Suman was served two show-cause notices, but he did not answer," he added.

On Feb 14, Sumon violated the girl when she went to his residence for private tuition. Later, she informed her parents about the incident.

The parents complained to the school authorities. But they declined to take any action against the teacher.

However, on April 6, the girl's father wrote to CCC mayor Monzur Alam.

After an inquiry, the CCC authorities found the teacher guilty and dismissed him.
