Nur Nahar Yasmin, the principal of the college, has called for an end to the protest after receiving the buses on Saturday morning.
Dia Khanom Mim and Abdul Karim, students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College, were killed after a Jabale Noor Paribahan bus struck them in the MES area of the capital’s Airport Road on Jul 29.
Following the accident students launched a protest to demand safer roads.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had agreed to the demands and pledged to give the college five buses on Thursday.

One of the buses was a double-decker, while another was a Coaster.
Principal Yasmin read a statement to the media after the bus handover ceremony.
According to the statement, at least eight other students were taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) at cantonment area after the accident. Four of them have already left the hospital, while the four others are also expected to recover.
“The buses have been given to us so that the students can travel safely to and from school. As a guardian, teacher and a mother I want to say that the demands are being accepted. All of them will be implemented soon and they will be done systematically,” she said.
“I am asking the students to return to the classrooms and attend to their studies. The government is taking steps to ensure safe roads.”
Protesters took to the streets for the seventh straight day on Saturday with their nine-point demands, which have been accepted by the government.
Police have attacked protesters in some parts of Dhaka during the demonstrations. Bangladesh Chhatra League and Jubo League activists have also been involved in attacks.
