Narayanganj, June 19 (bdnews24.com) — The six-hour general strike in Narayanganj on Monday protesting bus fare hike has been withdrawn.
The Passengers Rights Preservation Forum, a citizens' platform that called the hartal, announced the strike withdrawal on Sunday.
Forum convenor Rafiur Rabbi told reporters that the shutdown was withdrawn as bus owners in the district declared to decrease fare by Tk 1.
The organisation would explain its stance in detail at a briefing at Naraynaganj Press Club at 11:30am on Monday, he added.
