Currently, he is serving as Director General at the foreign ministry’s South-East Asia Wing that deals Myanmar affairs.
The post fell vacant when the government transferred Ambassador Mohammad Sufiur Rahman to the Australia mission last month.
Manjurul Karim, a career diplomat of 17th BCS (Foreign Affairs), joined the Foreign Service in February 1998.
Earlier, he had served in Bangladesh missions at Istanbul, London, Rome and Bandar Seri Begawan in different capacities.
He has also represented Bangladesh in bilateral and multilateral meetings.
He did his Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical) from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET).
He completed Masters in Geopolitics and Global Security from the Sapienza University of Rome.
