National flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended flight operations to six key Middle East destinations "until further notice”, citing the ongoing regional conflict.
The affected routes include Dammam, Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Kuwait.
The airline announced the decision on Tuesday afternoon, advising passengers to contact Biman sales centres or their respective travel agents.
In a statement, the carrier provided two contact numbers for passenger assistance: 13636 and +8809610913636 (international).
Biman added that it is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates in due course.
The suspension comes as Shahjalal International Airport authorities reported a total of 147 flight cancellations to the Middle East as of Tuesday since the escalation of hostilities.
The disruptions have left thousands of passengers stranded, prompting the government to issue assurances that efforts are being made to mitigate the travellers' plight.
