Arrest warrant issued against Transcom’s Simeen Rahman, 2 others

Shahzreh Huq, younger daughter of Transcom Group founder Latifur Rahman, filed the case with Gulshan police on Feb 22, 2024

A Dhaka court has issued arrest warrants against three people, including Transcom Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Simeen Rahman, in a case over embezzlement of the company’s shares.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sefatullah issued the warrants on Wednesday after taking cognisance of the charge sheet in the case.

The two other accused are Transcom Group Chairperson Shahnaz Rahman and the group’s Director Shamsuzzaman Patwary.

Prosecution Department Sub-Inspector Moktar Hossain confirmed the matter.

The case was filed with Gulshan Police Station on Feb 22, 2024, by Shazreh Huq, younger daughter of late Latifur Rahman, the founder of Transcom Group, alleging the embezzlement of 14,160 shares of Transcom through “forged signatures and fake stamps.”
