The junior scholarship exam for eighth graders is set to be held after a long break.

More than 346,000 students are set to participate, which will start simultaneously across the country on Sunday and continue until Wednesday.

Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (DSHE) Board Examination Controller Prof SM Kamal Uddin Haider told bdnews24.com on Saturday, “The exam will be conducted at 611 centres across the country under the supervision of nine general education boards.

“A total of 346,591 candidates are expected to participate in the exam. The education boards have made all preparations to organise the exams.”

Papers will cover Bengali, English, Mathematics, Science, and Bangladesh and Global Studies (BGS) following the eighth grade curriculum.

While Bengali, English, and Mathematics will be conducted separately, Science and BGS will be held together.

The total score for the scholarship test is 400, with 100 marks each for Bengali, English, and Mathematics, and 50 marks each for Science and BGS. Each exam will be conducted in 3 hours.

Scholarships will be awarded based on results under the Talent Pool and General quota categories.

According to the revised schedule, the Bengali paper will be held on Dec 28, English on Dec 29, Mathematics on Dec 30, and the combined Science and BGS paper on Dec 31.
