Dhaka has continued to struggle with severe waterlogging after heavy rainfall, though sunshine has appeared by midday.
Water still remains in several neighbourhoods, while damaged roads have slowed traffic in parts of the capital.
On Monday morning, commuters heading to offices and educational institutions faced fresh hardship as rain continued from the previous day.
Public transport was relatively scarce in Mohammadpur, Karwan Bazar and Mohakhali around 9:30am, while battery-run rickshaw and CNG auto-rickshaw drivers demanded several times the usual fare.
Waterlogging persisted in New Market, where floodwater from Sunday's downpour had yet to recede fully.
The road from Nilkhet intersection to Bangladesh-Kuwait Maitree Hall remained submerged before water began draining after 10pm the previous night.
Former Dhaka University student Sayedul Haque Nishan said road water that usually clears within three to four hours had remained for more than 24 hours, forcing vehicles to move slowly through standing water.
Water has receded in Mohakhali, but numerous potholes have emerged, disrupting traffic.
bdnews24.com's Masum Kamal reports that roads in Mohakhali South Para have been badly damaged, making movement difficult for commuters and pedestrians.
The Gulshan Traffic Division said on Monday morning that waterlogging had disrupted traffic in both directions on the main road between Banani Graveyard and Dhaka Gate.
Vehicles were also moving slowly on the Banani-Kakoli Elevated Expressway exit ramp due to minor flooding.
Traffic has also slowed on the ECB Chattar route towards the Matikata Flyover because of water in front of Cantonment Girls' School.
Congestion has worsened near Jamuna Future Park, where rainwater and ongoing Dhaka WASA pipeline work have narrowed the road.
Traffic Police warned that congestion could worsen if rainfall continues and advised residents to use alternative routes and allow extra travel time.
Although sunshine returned at midday, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast more rain.
It said Dhaka received 110mm of rainfall during the 27 hours between 6am on Sunday and 9am on Monday.
Meteorologist Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik said heavy rain could again cause temporary waterlogging in parts of the capital, adding that rainfall intensity may increase as the monsoon remains active.
In a heavy rainfall warning issued on Monday, the Met Office said Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions could see heavy to very heavy rain during the 24 hours from 11am.
