Meanwhile, heavy rain has caused waterlogging on various roads and alleys in Dhaka, leading to difficulties for commuters and pedestrians.
In a heavy rainfall warning for Sunday, the BMD said that heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in some places in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chiattogram and Sylhet divisions for the 24 hours from noon on Sunday due to the influence of active monsoon winds.

The monsoon is active over Bangladesh and is moderate in the north Bay of Bengal.
Due to its influence, light to moderate heavy rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds may occur in most places in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions in the 24 hours from 9am on Sunday.
