Two killed as passenger vehicle collides with truck in Bagerhat

At least three others have been injured in the late-night collision on the Khulna–Mongla highway

Two men have been killed after a three-wheeled passenger vehicle, locally known as a Mahindra, collided head-on with a freight truck in Bagerhat Sadar Upazila.

The crash occurred around 12am on Tuesday on the Khulna–Mongla regional highway at Chulkathi Chaltetla, said Katakhali Highway Police Station chief (OC) Md Zafar Ahmed.

The victims have been identified as Kader Khan, 27, and Lablu Molla, 30.

The Mongla-bound truck slammed into the oncoming Mahindra, killing two and injuring at least three, the OC said.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them to Bagerhat District Hospital for post-mortem examination after the crash.

The injured were rescued and admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.

The truck has been seized, but its driver managed to flee, according to police
