Two people, including SI, die in Fatikchhari motorcycle collision

Two people, including a police sub-inspector, have died in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Fatikchhari, Chattogram.

The accident occurred on Thursday on the Chattogram-Khagrachhari regional highway in Paindong Union, police said.

The dead have been identified as Sub-Inspector (SI) Saiful Islam and Hafizur Rahman, both of Manikchhari Police Station in Khagrachhari.

Saiful was a resident of Munshiganj, while Hafizur lived in Manikchhari.

Two constables from the same police station, Abdullah Al Noman and Md Ripon, were also injured in the accident.

Fatikchhari Police chief Nur Ahmed told bdnews24.com, “Saiful and Noman were travelling to Fatikchhari on a motorcycle in the evening. Hafizur and Ripon were on the other motorcycle.

“All four were gravely injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Amtoli.

“When they were taken to Nazirhat Upazila Health Complex, doctors declared Saiful and Hafizur dead.”

Noman has been sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, while Ripon is being treated at Nazirhat Health Complex.
