The Election Commission has given Bangladeshi expatriates five days to get registered on the postal voting app for participating in the next general election through the Postal Vote BD app.

After the launch on Tuesday, the postal voting registration will begin on Nov 19 in East Asia, South America and Africa.

Bangladeshi expatriates in North America and Oceania will be able to register from Nov 24. In Europe, registration begins on Nov 29.

Registration opens in one of the Middle Eastern countries on Dec 4 and in South and Southeast Asia on Dec 9. Expatriates in the rest of the 14 Middle Eastern countries can start registering from Dec 14.

For those allowed to use postal voting in Bangladesh, they will have to register between Dec 19 and 23.

In Bangladesh, people away from home on polling duty and inmates can take the opportunity of postal voting.
