Authorities have relocated the written test venue for the 46th BCS in Mymensingh from Ananda Mohan College to Premier Ideal High School after a student protest disrupted normal activities at the college.
From Thursday, all remaining BCS papers will be held at Premier Ideal High School.
The Public Service Commission announced the change in a media statement on Wednesday, saying candidates must now sit the remaining exams at the new venue through Aug 21.
It, however, did not mention the reason behind the relocation.
PSC spokesperson SM Matiur Rahman told bdnews24.com that “the commission has not given a clear explanation for the venue change.”
The press note, signed by the PSC’s Exam Controller Masuma Afrin, described the move as being due to “unavoidable reasons”.
The protest at Anand Mohan College on Tuesday followed the appointment of Prof Md Sakir Hossain as acting principal, whom students labelled an Awami League “agent” and demanded his removal.
During the demonstration, which lasted from noon to afternoon, the principal left his office, and students locked the room.
Police later intervened to bring the situation under control.
The PSC announced the centre's relocation the following day.
