At least four people have died and 14 others injured in a collision between a bus and a truck in the Hasara Highway Police Station area of the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway.
The incident occurred early Saturday morning on the Dhaka-bound lane between Singpara-Nowapara and Hasara Bridge-2.

According to Mohammad Safiquil Islam, deputy assistant director of the Munshiganj Fire Service and Civil Defence, a Hamdan Express bus heading to Dhaka from Jashore rammed into the back of a moving truck at high speed.
The impact caused both vehicles to lose control and crash into the divider railing of the expressway. Two people died on the spot.

Safiquil said that upon receiving the information, firefighters from the Sreenagar Fire Station rescued the injured and sent them to hospitals in Dhaka, where two more victims died while undergoing treatment.
Several of the 14 injured are in critical condition, he added. The identities of the deceased have not immediately been known.
Following the incident, highway police and local authorities removed the wrecked vehicles. Traffic was briefly disrupted but later returned to normal.
