Qatar Labour Minister Ali bin Saeed arrives in Dhaka on 2-day visit

He is in Dhaka for talks on manpower export and cooperation

Qatar’s Labour Minister Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al Marri has begun a two-day official visit to Dhaka focused on manpower export and bilateral cooperation.

He was received on arrival on Sunday afternoon by Expatriates’ Welfare Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury and Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Humaiun Kobir at Shahjalal International Airport.

During the visit, the Qatari minister is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and hold meetings with senior officials of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Earlier, Bangladesh Ambassador to Qatar Hazrat Ali Khan saw him off at Hamad International Airport in Doha.

A statement from the Qatar embassy said the visit reflects the close fraternal ties between the two countries.

It said a joint committee meeting will be held during the visit, where labour, manpower issues and broader bilateral cooperation, including matters related to the Bangladeshi community in Qatar, will be discussed.

“We hope this visit will be highly successful and fruitful and further strengthen the friendship and partnership between Qatar and Bangladesh in the days ahead,” the statement added.
