The Chief Advisor’s Office (CAO) says the government has apologised over allegations that some Army personnel "beat up students" while attempting crowd control at Milestone School and College following a jet crash on the campus.

The government has also said that Army authorities will be informed to "take appropriate action" in the matter.

The CAO’s remarks were included in a statement from the CAO on Tuesday, which quoted Law Advisor Asif Nazrul.

After visiting Milestone School on Tuesday and in the face of agitated students, Law Advisor Asif assured that all the students' demands would be "accepted" and that the government agreed with them.

Following the assurances from the law advisor, the CAO issued a statement calling the students' six-point demands "reasonable".

The statement said that after a discussion with several teachers and students of the educational institution at the school, Advisor Asif said: "The government has expressed its apology over the allegations that some Army personnel beat students while performing their duties of controlling the crowd and will inform the Army authorities to take appropriate action."
