Family of three perishes as truck collides with motorcycle in Pabna

A family of three has been killed after a truck hit their motorcycle in Pabna’s Faridpur Upazila.

The accident occurred around 9:30am on Tuesday, said Faridpur Police chief Hasnat Zaman.

The dead are Sohel Rana, 28, his wife Aulia Khatun, 25, and their daughter Sumaiya Khatun, 7.

Hasnat said Sohel was returning home from Sirajganj with his wife and daughter when their motorcycle collided head-on with a truck.

Aulia and Sumaiya died on the spot. Sohel, critically injured, was first taken to Faridpur Upazila Health Complex and later referred to Pabna General Hospital, where he died in the afternoon.

Police recovered the bodies and said they would be handed over to the family after legal formalities.

Locals seized the truck, but its driver and helper managed to flee, said Hasnat, adding that legal steps were underway.
