The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced that the viva voce for the 49th special Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination, aimed at recruiting 683 teachers for government colleges, will begin on Nov 2.
According to a PSC circular issued on Thursday, the oral examinations will run until Nov 9.
The tests will be held at the commission’s office in Agargaon, Dhaka, starting at 10am each day.
The results of the written examination were published on Sunday, with 1,219 candidates qualifying for the viva.
Earlier, on Oct 10, the PSC conducted a multiple-choice (MCQ) test for over 312,000 applicants across 184 centres in Dhaka. A total of 176,670 candidates took part in the exam, representing 56.49 percent of all applicants.
The PSC had issued the circular for the 49th special BCS on Jul 21 to appoint 653 teachers for government general colleges and 30 for government teacher training colleges. Applications were accepted from Jul 22 to Aug 22.
The application fee was set at Tk 200, while candidates from underprivileged communities paid Tk 50. The maximum age limit for applicants was 32 years.
