The Non-Government Teachers Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) has started accepting applications for the recruitment of 100,822 teaching positions in Monthly Pay-Order (MPO) listed educational institutions.

Through the sixth public notification issued on Jun 16, candidates are getting the opportunity to apply against the highest number of vacancies so far.

Candidates who have received recommendations for these posts in various private schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical educational institutions will have the opportunity to apply by Jul 1 by paying an application fee of Tk 1,000.

In exchange for this fee, they will be allowed to list their preference for 40 vacancies to receive an employment recommendation.

NTRCA Education and Standards Branch Deputy Director Prof Mohammad Abdur Rahim Khondoker told bdnews24.com on Sunday, “Online applications have started through the sixth public notification.

“If the authorities decide, the application period may be extended. I hope Teletalk will start processing the result soon after the application process is over.”

Of 100,822 vacancies, 46,211 are in non-government schools and colleges, 53,501 in madrasas, and 1,110 in technical and business management educational institutions, all of which are MPO-listed or receive government salary allowance.

The notification mentions the candidate’s age should be 35 years or less as of Jun 4, 2025, and the validity of the registration certificate should be within three years from the date of publication of the examination results.

The public notification also highlights the removal of women’s quota in this recruitment.

Earlier, it was mandatory to appoint women candidates for 40 percent of the total teacher posts in urban private educational institutions and 20 percent of the total teacher posts in non-government educational institutions in urban areas, which was known as the “women's quota”.

On May 15, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education of the education ministry announced the cancellation of this provision of reservation of seats for female candidates.

A total of 75,000 teaching posts in MPO-listed non-government educational institutions have remained vacant for almost a year.

As a result, these institutions are facing a crisis, despite the majority of students in the country studying there.

Despite the extensive efforts behind the ongoing recruitment process, the teacher shortage is unlikely to be fully resolved.
