Amid the unrelenting surge of measles cases in Bangladesh, four more infants have died with symptoms of the disease at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH), taking the facility's death toll to 58.
The deaths, all involving children aged 8 months or younger, occurred on Friday and were confirmed Saturday.
Among the victims were two children from Mymensingh district: a 4-month-old from Shapla Bazar of Haluaghat Upazila, admitted on Jun 18, who died on Friday afternoon; and a 3-month-old from Palashkanda in Phulpur Upazila, admitted on Friday morning and dead by evening.
The other two came from further afield.

A 4-month-old from Netrokona's Kolmakanda Upazila, admitted on Jun 16, and an 8-month-old from Sunamganj's Sadar Upazila, admitted on Jun 8, both died on Friday.
In the 24 hours to Saturday morning, 16 children were admitted with measles symptoms while nine were discharged.
The 64-bed isolation ward is currently holding 94 patients.
Since the outbreak began on Mar 17, a total of 2,378 children have been admitted, of whom 2,226 have recovered and gone home.
Fear has gripped the ward as deaths mount.
Shahnaz Parveen, a relative of one of the patients, said the constant sound of weeping had become unbearable.
Her child had been admitted for a week and she was praying for all the children to recover soon.
Golam Mawla, associate professor of paediatrics and focal person for the isolation ward, said the children who died had been suffering from other illnesses alongside measles.
Most had not been breastfed after birth, he said, leaving them with weakened immune systems.
