Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended its Wednesday flight to Nepal until 2pm due to security concerns and ongoing flight restrictions imposed by the Nepalese government.

The airline announced the decision in a media statement on Tuesday night.

The statement read, “In light of current restrictions and as a precautionary measure, it has been decided to suspend the Dhaka–Kathmandu route flight until 2pm on the 10th of September. Passengers will be informed as soon as further instructions on flight operations are available.”

Biman spokesperson ABM Raoshan Kabir told bdnews24.com, “Since the airports in Nepal are closed and the embassies of both Bangladesh and Nepal have advised against travel, we have decided to suspend the flight until noon.”

He added, “Initially, we had planned to operate the diverted flight from Tuesday on Wednesday morning. That plan has now changed. If the airport reopens after noon, a decision will be made regarding the resumption of flights.”

Passengers travelling to Nepal are advised to contact the airline’s call centre at 13636 or +8809610913636 between 8am and 8:30pm for the latest flight information.
